Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 07, 2024

Your privacy matters. Learn how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Jax Wallet collects, uses, and discloses your personal information. We are committed to protecting your data and transparency around its use.

Data We Collect

  • Account details: email address, username. This allows you to log in and receive notifications.
  • Usage metrics: session duration, feature usage flags. We analyze these to improve performance and prioritize features.
  • Device information: IP address, operating system, browser type. This helps prevent fraudulent access and tailor compatibility.
  • Error and crash logs: stack traces, OS versions. Used solely to diagnose issues and enhance stability.

We do not collect sensitive personal identifiers such as Social Security numbers or biometric data.

How We Use Data

  • Enable functionality: powering wallet operations like send/receive and swaps.
  • Optimize experience: customizing UI and improving load times based on usage patterns.
  • Customer support: troubleshooting issues and guiding users with context-specific insights.
  • Security alerts: notifying you of suspicious activity or required updates.

Aggregated and anonymized data may be used internally to identify trends without linking back to individuals.

Cookies & Tracking

  • Authentication cookies: maintain session security and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Analytics cookies: track page visits and feature interactions to guide product roadmap.
  • Opt-out: you can disable non-essential cookies via your browser or device settings.

Essential cookies are required for core functionality; disabling them may limit access to some features.

Data Sharing

  • Service providers: under non–disclosure agreements for hosting, analytics, and support.
  • Legal obligations: in response to subpoenas, court orders, or law enforcement requests.
  • Business transfers: during mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales, under confidentiality constraints.

We do not sell personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for stated purposes. Usage logs and crash reports are purged after 24 months; account information persists until account deletion.

Third-Party Services

Jax Wallet relies on blockchain data providers, liquidity pools, and market feeds. Each provider has separate privacy policies—your data sharing with them is limited to wallet address queries and transaction histories.

Security Measures

All private keys are encrypted locally with AES-256 and can be optionally secured by hardware modules (TPM or Secure Enclave). Regular penetration tests and code reviews ensure continuous protection.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data at any time. Submit requests via privacy@jax-wallet.com, and we will respond within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 16. If you suspect we have, contact support@jax-wallet.com to request removal.

International Transfers

Your data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country. We implement EU Standard Contractual Clauses and other safeguards to maintain compliance with data protection laws.

Policy Updates

Significant changes will be communicated via email and highlighted on this page. We encourage frequent review to stay informed of updates.
